Chinese DTV Industry Alliance Formed in Beijing

According to the Chinese-language Xinhua News, a consortium of 135 institutions and enterprises across China's DTV (Digital TV) industry, including Tsinghua University and the Haier Group, was formed in Beijing in June 2007. The alliance is further divided into eight workgroups, aiming to elevate the levels of R&D and manufacturing for China's DTV industry. Also, the alliance posted a forecast of 650 billion RMB (US$85.2 billion; US$ =7.6 RMB) for the overall revenue of China's DTV industry by 2010.
